TATTOO AFTERCARE
Your tattoo can take up to 4 weeks to heal. The first few days are the most important for your tattoo aftercare.
If you received a Saniderm (second skin) bandage, you can leave it on for up to five days. If there is fluid leaking out of the bandage or excessive peeling, remove the bandage immediately. If you received a regular bandage or plastic wrap, remove it after 2 hours at most.
Remove the bandage under running water or in the shower and peel away from the skin.
Gently clean the tattooed area with unscented cleanser and warm water. DO NOT use any body wash on the tattooed area. DO NOT scrub the tattoo with a brush or towel.
Dry the tattoo by patting it with a clean towel or fresh paper towel.
Do not re-bandage the tattoo, allow your skin to breathe and heal.
After a few days if you notice your tattoo is peeling or scabbing, DO NOT pick at or scratch the tattoo. You can moisturize your tattoo with a thin layer of unscented moisturizer or tattoo aftercare cream. Do not apply too much as it may cause additional scabbing.
Moisturize your tattoo at least once a day for best results
Things to AVOID during the healing process:
Avoid swimming/ soaking the tattoo in water for extended periods of time (showering is ok)
Avoid direct sunlight and use sunscreen to avoid fading
Avoid scratching/picking at the tattoo
Avoid rough and tight clothing around the area
Avoid activities that cause excessive sweating while the bandage is still on. If it cannot be avoided, please remove the bandage and clean/ dry the area.
